The initial consultation, which takes place before any attorney-client relationship is established, is not a service in itself; it is an introductory meeting in which the prospective client is heard, the outlines of the matter are reviewed, and a written proposal is prepared. Legal consultation, on the other hand, is an independent service: in exchange for a fee, legal information, written opinions and a roadmap are provided.

An introductory meeting in which the prospective client is heard before any attorney-client relationship is established. No legal advice is provided at this stage; the relevant facts of the matter are gathered, any necessary preliminary research is carried out, and a written proposal is prepared for the prospective client. We do not issue a proposal without first holding an initial consultation — every matter requires one.

Legal Consultation

An independent, fee-based service. During the consultation your matter is evaluated from a legal standpoint; information is shared in light of the applicable legislation and case law, and a written opinion is prepared if requested. If, following the consultation, you decide to continue the matter with us, the consultation fee already paid is credited against the attorney's fee.

The starting point of a sound legal relationship
A sound proposal for a legal matter can only be prepared once the details have been properly understood. For this reason, at Kentkuran Hukuk we do not provide a fee proposal for any matter without first holding an initial consultation; the timeframe, scope and cost are determined only after we are familiar with the file.
During the initial consultation we listen to the prospective client, gather the essential information regarding the matter and, if needed, carry out a brief preliminary inquiry. The meeting is not itself a service: no legal advice is provided and no written opinion is issued. Our purpose is to get to know you, understand your matter, and offer you a fair and workable written proposal.
The initial consultation is a moment of decision both for you and for us: together we assess whether it is appropriate to proceed with the matter as a team. The initial consultation is entirely free;it does not entail any commitment of representation or consultation.

Fill in the initial consultation form on this page. We will then contact you to schedule the meeting and confirm its format (online or at our office).
Listening and assessment
During the initial meeting we listen to you, gather the essential facts of your matter, and carry out any research that may be necessary. At this stage no legal advice is provided; the meeting lays the groundwork for the written proposal that will follow.
Written proposal
After the initial meeting you receive a written proposal setting out the projected timeframe and fee for your matter. Upon your approval we move on to the legal consultation or representation phase.
Two processes, two distinct fee approaches
Initial Consultation
Entirely free of charge.
The initial consultation is not a service in itself; its sole purpose is introduction, listening and assessment. A written proposal is prepared after the meeting and sent to you. No fee is charged at this stage.
Legal Consultation
Set with reference to the Minimum Attorney Fee Tariff.
The consultation fee is determined according to the scope of the matter and the length of the meeting; the final amount is communicated in writing at the approval stage. If, following the consultation, you decide to proceed with us, the consultation fee already paid is credited against the attorney's fee.
